A crochet doily is pinned and blocking on a navy blue background. This doily is the ROYGBIV Gay Pride flag beginning with purple at the center and fading one strand of thread at a time thru blue, green, yellow, orange, and red at the edge. The red yarn I’ll use to sew it on to its frame is visible at the bottom left of the image.

The same finished ROYGBIV doily from the previous picture is now mounted on its parasol frame and open, facing the viewer. The bamboo center, central pole, and metal arms are sort of visible behind the doily.

Final blocking for this custom order. I’ve never made this pattern on a 10-armed parasol, but with a lot of math and brief in myself there it is, very little frogging required.

It’s already on its frame & on its way to its new home. Bye, sweet baby!

Shown on a clothes hanger in the garden - so leaves, lattice etc in the background - is a dark teal, hand knitted vest (sleeveless sweater) for a man.
The colour is looking more blue in the photo than it is IRL
It is a classic V-necked vest but with a nice textured stitch pattern that forms diamonds or lattice. The stitch is in Barbara Walker’s ‘Treasury of Knitting Patterns’ - she called it ‘Imitation Lattice’ and it just a knit/purl combination.

The yarn is from Bendigo Woollen Mills - 8ply
‘Whisper’ in ‘Baltic’.

A hat and handbag are shown next to a timber garden fence which is in the background - there are objects on the fence, tree branches, a metal pole etc.

The hat is in the foreground on a grey styrofoam ‘display head’ - it is a small hat, hand knitted - a ‘modular’ knit so round the head are diamond shapes, then triangles - the top of the hat is a circle of modular knitting like the bottom of the bag (see next photo)
The ‘diamonds ‘ make soft points along the edge of the hat.

The bag is hanging by its handle behind the hat - it is also modular knitting - diamond shapes. It is quite long. The handle is crochet (backed with gros-grain ribbon.

Both hat & bag are in a variety of yarns - with edges handle etc in a dark teal 8ply - the rest are greens, blues, a touch of orange & brown … peacock colours.

Both are to my own patterns but the base of the bag (see next photo) and top of the hat are based on ‘Felted Stained Glass Fan Bag’ by Madeline Langan - it’s on Ravelry

In this photo we see the base of the handbag -
With some of the rest of the bag and it is lying on top of the knitted vest shown in the 1st photo .

Modular knitting - fan shapes - decreasing into the centre. A variety of yarns is used with a dark teal coloured 8ply yarn used to edge / seperate the fans. The rest are greens, blues, a touch of orange & brown … peacock colours.

A pair of hand knitted socks shown on some yellow sandstone.
The socks are lying ‘pigeon toed’ - toes together, heels out.
I use a vintage Patons pattern - top down, heel flap style heel …
The yarn is a self-patterning sock yarn from Regia - a 4ply - ‘Urban Jungle colour 2592’
It makes irregular bands in greys and light turquoise.

#finishFriday a catch up of 2 weeks finishes. All #handknitting - a vest for Hubby, the hat and bag to complete my peacock outfit and a pair of socks that have been a WiP for ages. 🧶 more in Alt Txt

Belated #FinishFriday. I’ve been on a cityscape kick lately, trying to stitch cities I’ve visited and loved.

This one is Shanghai. 🇨🇳 🧵

#FinishFriday Day one!

because of the Ice on my roof and other things happening, I didn't do any artwork today. However, I will show finished images to keep up with Finish Friday. So we have the owner of the Millennium Band (planning on doing a power breakdown of it) and some cute chibi/Sanrios

A cross stitch of a dragon holding a heart Valentine that says "be mine" in black letters on red 14-count aida fabric. The dragon is lt green with dk green ridges and is outlined in black. The heart is an outline of red with a lace type border of white with dots of pink. The inside of the heart is divided into 5 sections, the upper left is gold with an indeterminate pattern, underneath that is a green section with a horizontal stripes pattern, at the bottom of the heart is a pink section with a small hearts pattern though it's kinda hard to tell, going up above that to the right is a spiral pattern done in white and very deep rose, and lastly on the upper right of the heart is a pattern of vertical stipes in baby blue.

Cute little dragon holding a valentine.
Pattern from Dragon Dreams FB page.
I did change the colors of the gold section, pattern calls for baby blues, but I thought that was too much blue.
