Per @senesced.bsky.social ‘s recommendation, I sandwiched the silk (similar amount) in between wool. This was great success! Everything got transferred over to the main drum (7/n)

I tried adding only a very lil amount of silk. But when fed in on top of the wool like shown below, I still found that most of the silk would stay on the licker-in. (6/n)

I decided to blend the leftover bombyx silk from the Guts I carded last weekend with this Corriedale. What I didn’t have last time was patience, due to too much excitement. This time around I’m trying to load up as much patience I can muster up 😇 (5/n)

25ish grams of washed fleece on the bottom, and 25ish grams of picked open fleece on the top! The first couple weeks I had my carder, I was so impatient to card that I picked quickly in haste but today I took a couple hours to do it slowly & it felt so relaxing 😌 (4/n)

I’m picking it open with my hands (instead of using my Lock Pop, which I also love) because I want to maximize feeling the wool texture. It can be very soothing to focus on the texture your hands are feeling and I’m craving that today. (2/n)

After trying blending sari silk and bombyx silk in my first couple of carding projects, I wanted to do 100% wool for my next one. This is Bond washed by Clemes and Clemes (their Good Clean Fiber). It indeed was v good and v clean, almost no VMs even! (1/n)

This is how the washed fleece looked before carding. I carded all the fleece, but only used about one third or half of the silk (5-7g). I hope to blend it with some other project in the future. (3/n)

🧵 Packing down the fiber on the main drum with a cat brush helped a lot, (afterwards I ordered a burnishing brush) but it didn’t resolve the problem completely. Not pictured, but the romney continued to not get transferred to the main drum. Any tips? (6/n)
