Her shadow is trapped under roots she no longer owns, casting fractures inside her own form. Those plantings she once thought beautiful grew too fast in a terrain too yielding, too tender for the hard meandering of life’s insistence. She weakens to cut them, finding only gaslit options; bonfires of much pomp but little wealth, flouncy facades with no warmth outside destruction. What choice is there when light nary reflects more than the basest fear? Constriction brings reunion, abandonment brings freedom, indecision brings this: a cad’s roaming line of a kiss in lover’s bounties claiming bliss.
