Today’s #forgottensitcom is Shelley (ITV 1979-92) created and initially written by the inestimable Peter Tilbury and starring Hywel Bennett as an over-qualified layabout. A very smart show. The sort that doesn’t get made these days.
#forgottensitcom time. Married With Children (1887-97 Fox Network) was an over the top riot. It featured Ed O’Neill, who 20 years later (more or less) starred in the equally successful Modern Family
As the great comedy writer #IanLaFrenais is today celebrating his 88th birthday, instead of a #forgottensitcom let’s all enjoy the best UK comedy series of all time, #Porridge.
I really loved Chef with Lenny Henry which doesn’t get spoken about much these days. Am I right in saying writer Peter Tilbury did some eps of Birds of a Feather? #forgottensitcom

After the wave of indifference following my last #forgottensitcom let me offer a less obscure gem - 3rd Rock From The Sun (NBC 1996 - 2001), my favourite ever sci-fi sitcom with an all-star American cast led by the brilliant John Lithgow. What’s more it’s streaming on C4. Apparently.
