No real progress on #fylgja I took a break to learn KnitCompanion. But here’s the sock project. About 5 inches done It’s utterly mindless knitting but it’s what I need this week.

Fylgja

My first ever use of a lateral braid in knitting. It’s very tedious and very slow because it’s persnickity AF. I spent an afternoon learning it on scrap yarn & big needles. It now takes about 1 minute per stitch to form so this row is about 7 hours to knit. Wish I had lace points

Family #folklore claims that back in Norway my g. grandfather saw his brother’s ghost by the side of the road in a storm. When he resumed his journey he found that the bridge he needed to cross had washed out before he got there.

I love this story because it sounds a lot like a #fylgja in a #saga.
