I just finished Romeo Is A Deadman. This game is criminally underrated by people who don't "get it" when it comes to Suda 51's creativity, humor, and storytelling. They simply don't understand games as art or concept pieces. If you like No More Heros, Lollipop Chainsaw, or Shadows of the Damned, you'll be right at home here. I saw multiple numbnuts reviewers complain about the wireframe subspace levels interrupting the action. I enjoyed those parts just fine and think the people complaining would bitch there wasn't enough variety in gameplay if it wasn't there. They're probably too low IQ for the easy puzzles in subspace too. It also isn't a soulslike, which I think is fantastic, but people like to complain about that too. Graphics are standard UE5 fare, but the design and artistry is what makes this game special. I love the use of mixed media and styles, blendng elements of sci-fi and horror with the futuristic and retro. I feel this game has the strongest art direction since Clair Obscure: Expedition 33. Also, the music is badass. I love the J-hip-hop tracks on the opening screens, and the boss music really gets me pumped up. The controls seem perfectly adequate and fighting is fun. I like how the different enemies take different strategies, and mindless WHACK WHACK WHACK doesn't work most of the time. So RIADM is not the best game ever, but it deserves at least an 8 out of 10. Suda 51 fans who aren't already playing this should have no hesitation to get started.
Finally, a proper review of Romeo Is A Dead Man.
