Happy Easter! The newly battery equipped Helena (0-4-0, Porter) did a wonderful job pulling the garden’s Easter trains during yesterday’s festivities. Running for over 4 hours almost non stop on one battery charge. #happyeaster #gardening #gardenrailroad #gardenrailway #modeltrains
The battery powered train did great today on Easter train duty! Ran for about 4 hours straight and still had more juice. #gardenrailroad #gardentrain #lgbtrains #gscale #modeltrains.

More tests for the battery powered loco: pushing the rail broom. Works much better that track powered since it doesn’t have pick up interruptions. #gardenrailroad #gardentrain #modeltrain
It’s alive! Need to make the tender prettier, but it’s working! Battery powered and Bluetooth controlled! #gardenrailroad #ggauge #modelrailroad #modeltrain

Kind of impressed with this battery powered playmobil train. I think I may need to convert all the garden trains to battery. #gardenrailroad #modelrailroad #toytrain #playmobil

Left: new ballast, right side, two year old ballast.
Filling in this area with gravel, this area I previously just put a board under the tracks since it was so prone to wash outs. We will see how long this lasts.
The fun of garden railroading: needing to reballast frequently to keep the trains running. I’ve gotten lucky and haven’t had to do too much in the last two years, but the railroad is starting to be more of a roller coaster. So now is the time for some maintenance. #gardenrailroad #modelrailroad
