Oxford University surgical lectures: The 100,000 Genomes Project
Oxford University surgical lectures: The 100,000 Genomes Project Ms Jennifer Whitfield, Training and Education Lead for the Oxford NHS Genomic Medicine Centre, discusses The 100,000 Genomes Project. The 100,000 Genomes Project was launched in 2012 by David Cameron as part of the Olympic legacy, and aims to establish a new genomic medicine service through the NHS by sequencing the entire genomes of around 70,000 people with rare inherited diseases or cancer. Further information about the project at national level can be found here: http://www.genomicsengland.co.uk/ The Surgical Grand Rounds lecture series, hosted by the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, is the key educational meeting for consultants, juniors and medical students. Presentations revolve around clinical cases. This video was brought to you by the Oxford University Medical Education Fellows.
