I’m a #GenXer but I was always curious during my youth. I find it odd when anyone says “that’s not my generation”, as if to excuse their ignorance about prior experiences or phenomena. I always explored the culture of my parents, and grandparents. Legacy is learning.

... while as a #GenXer, I grew up with radio, TV & print ads, many news sites hurt themselves allowing janky ads to ruin their websites in the 90s, when the web was just an add-on to business. But by the Aughts, offline sales sagged and folks blocked ads just for a good web experience.

I had the opportunity last week to see two amazing young bands, #Mirador (a @jaketkiszka.bsky.social and #ChrisTurpin project) and #Turnstile. As an early #GenXer, I'm more than happy to report that the future of #Rock/#Hardcore is in GREAT HANDS.

As a #GenXer, I grew up used to ad supported content.

Then came cable and subscription tv. There was always an infinite number of sponsors. There's only so many subscriptions I could afford.

The problem I have with ads is errors blocking content even after I've seen the ad. Also autoplay audio. 👎😠
