Cutting the very end of the shell will allow #water to get in quicker and therefore #germinate much faster ✌️

4. Survival vs rapid growth: #Cycads put their energy into #survival and do everything slow, their large hard and well protected seeds take a very long time to #germinate and it can take up to a year for a leaf to appear.

I find seeds #germinate much faster if kept around but under 80°F so I put them on a heating pad.

Soaking in water hopefully they will crack open within 24 to 48 hours at which time I will put them in a paper towel.

Today, we're releasing a new version of #Germinate with a long list of improvements focusing on trait definitions, trait data visualization, project support and general user experience improvements.
