Not all beauty arrives in petals.
Some of it comes as a soft explosion,
small wild stars
stitched together by light.
I look at this bloom
and think of tenderness.

This is how love sometimes appears:
not as one flame,
but as a thousand fine threads
burning at once.

A small sun loosened into petals,
gold heat circling its dark bright heart.

I know desire like this:
bold in full daylight,
unashamed of its color,
