Picture is a miniature of a suit of armor on display with a sword and shield.

The base was made with a GreenStuff World texture roller.

All base colors and most washes were done with Army Painter SpeedPaints. After a few coats of matt varnish, I washed everything with Streaking Grime by Bear Cavalry Paints. After 15 minutes or so, I cleaned the surface with a makeup sponge.

The mini is the armour token from Shadows Over Camelot by Days of Wonder.

Found a random board game piece & decided to make it an objective/decorative terrain token. Who knows what game it's from?

Most everything is #SpeedPaints. More deets in the alt text, as is the origin of the mini.

Photo is of the crate and barrel pieces from the Chronicles of Drunagor Champions & Furniture expansion, by Creative Games Studio.

I used an airbrush to do a zenithal undercoat, going from black to grey to white.

All base coats (save for the ground) were done with SpeedPaint markers from the Army Painter. I used Hardened Leather for the barrels and crates, Hopelite Gold for the metal bands, and Pallid Bone for the tarps.

Once dry, I went over the Hardened Leather with different SpeedPaint colors mixed with SpeedPaint Medium in a 1:1 ratio to get unique shades for each mini. I did the same with Bony Matter and Medium over the tarps.

The ground color is Orche Clay.

More #minispainting. I really like #SpeedPaint markers. They'll never replace brushes, but are great for quick work with minimal cleanup. I used them to base coat the barrels & metal bands, crates & tarps, and base rims.

Photo is of the Mysterious Stranger miniature for the various Fallout tabletop games by Modiphius.

I used an airbrush to do a zenithal undercoat, going from black to grey to white. I also used Maxx Darth by Green Stuff World to place some selective shadows in the undercoat.

Nearly everything was painted with SpeedPaints by the Army Painter. I did a lot of layering with different paints (most mixed with medium) to get the unique colors I was looking for. SpeedPaints can be a one-coat paint, but I feel that investing extra time and effort to do multiple layers of different paints is worth the results.

I'm still sad that Secret Weapon Miniatures is defunct. The scenic base and water effects are from that company.

Miniature is the warrior hero from the Dark Souls board game (Steamforged), rebased onto a scenic base by the now-defunct Secret Weapon Miniatures.

Zenithal primed/undershaded black to grey to white, followed by a white drybrushing in certain spots.

Most of the basecoating was done with SpeedPaint markers (Army Painter). All of the miniature was painted with SpeedPaints, other than the snow effects.

Shaded with Sepia Game Wash (Vallejo).

The snow effects are a combination of Frost FX (Vallejo), and Battlefield Basing: Snow (Army Painter).

Mini: Glimmer
Game: Masters of the Universe Battleground, by Archon Studios

Painting steps:
- Zenithal base coat of black to light grey to white.
- Army Painter SpeedPaints, with a lot of layering of different colors with various ratios of SpeedPaint medium.
- Army Painter Soft Tone Quickshade.
- Satin varnish.

I'll do highlights later. Maybe. She's good enough for now.

I'm calling this mini good enough for now. (Same with the photo. Can't be bothered to retake it!)

Both figures painted almost entirely with Army Painter SpeedPaints. Bonus points if you can name both. (Especially the one on right. I know which game/IP they're from, I just don't know who the character is. 😅)

A Shadows of Brimstone end game. From top to bottom: my Preacher hero surrounded by various undead, the Gunslinger hero KOed by a volley fire from the undead outlaws, and the Rancher hero trying to hide in a corner while taking pot shots.

And then the Darkness escaped the mines, and we lost.

I didn't get great pictures of the Object Source Lighting of the fireball. This is my first attempt at trying that effect.

Around 2016 when #HeroForge had their 1st Kickstarter, the mini I designed & painted was inspired by a certain Chicago-based wizard/PI.

My 1st attempt at OSL effects.

Sadly the initial material HeroForge used was poor. Mini's now broken beyond repair.

Here’s a #MiniaturePainting flashback for my fellow #Nerdlings. From Hero Forge’s 1st Kickstarter in 2014: the mini that I designed & painted was inspired by Harry Dresden.

Lighting effects were achieved with the old Citadel glazes. I wish they hadn’t discontinued those!

Three different miniatures painted with three different Green Stuff World color shift paints, plus some Nuln Oil Gloss by Citadel.

Colors are Royal Burgundy, Red Goblin, and Tropical Green.

Minis are Lord Varys from the Song of Ice & Fire minis game, a very kit-bashed mini that's mostly Wood Elf bits from Warhammer, and an archer from the Bolton Bastard's Girls box from the Song of Ice & Fire minis game.

I keep forgetting how easy it is to make very cool-looking minis quickly with color shift paints. I think the ones by Green Stuff World are my faves, but I haven't tried any of Vallejo's yet.

(Can't really see the color shift effect in pictures.)
