4 little gourds and some glass marbles looking pretty in the sun on a broad windowsill. One gourd, lying on its side, has a weird looking lump on the upper side, where it grew through one hexagon in the wire fence, so I had to cut the wire off the fence at harvest time, when it was green. Now it's dry, with this crown of 6 thorns made of wire. Cool, huh?
I can't believe I posted this photo and didn't comment on the Jesus gourd with it's crown of wire thorns (read the alt text)

Close up of the gorgeous fulsome curves of fried gourds, backlit by the sun and blue sky or the window. String contrast of light and dark on their shape, blotchy patterns on the brown skin are dried mould from thedrying process, doesn't sound as pretty as it is. Green and blue glass marbles seem to glow in the light.
View from above of the same gourds in the sun. 1 is green. 3 are dry brown, over of these has 1 hexagon of wire netting grown into it. The gourd has grown thru the hole. I had to cut the wire out of the mesh, just the 1 hexagon. Marbles for scale- the gourds are each about the size of those big grapefruit. But with boops on top
I think I've created my own variety of hue. For years the little ones always dry too quick, meaning the skin is too thin, they break. But these little pēpī are small and solid. The green one should be extra. About the size of large grapefruit. Marbles for scale
