The one downside of the #GQX kits is the lack of color correction usually on things like the piping on the hands. Gonna spend a lot of time doing lots of small painting on the Guncannon, but I think it’ll be worth it

Here's my updated Gundam tierlist. The first half on its own would be much higher... but the second half would be much lower. But I tend to enjoy things if they just have some aspects I like so I had a good time overall, even through the whole second half. I'd watch it again someday.

It was all but confirmed for me as soon as Nyaan ended up keeping Conch and I wish it was a *little* more explicit but I do like the implication that the ED takes place after the series. Some of this stuff was in the room. It's a good way to squeeze in a little bit more resolution for Nyaan.

And also just the way that Shuji instantly accepts Machu's big speech without even seeming to have like a moment of realization. It doesn't do justice to Shuji's character either. He has never clearly expressed any romantic interest in Machu prior to this #GQX
As I said before Machu and Nyaan becoming Mavs is a really good way to conclude their arc. I don't think they needed be a couple for it to end in a satisfying way, but it would have been a way that made sense and could have been used to wrap up all of the dynamics between the main trio at once #GQX
Not to mention Shuji just disappearing for like half of the show. This has very much been a show about the changing relationship between Machu and Nyaan for the entire time until the last ep where a switch gets flipped and suddenly its about Machu and Shuji, and Nyaan just gets sidelined. #GQX
The Machu/Nyaan dynamic is by far what this show spends the most time building up. Ep 1 is all about their first encounter. Shuji doesn't even appear until ep 3. The OP's lyrics are also all about how significant meeting Nyaan was to Machu's life, and the ED is all about the two of them. #GQX
While yes, the show has made it very very clear that Machu is into Shuji, I can't fault people for thinking that Machu ending up with Nyaan would have been a more fitting conclusion. I don't think it's just yuri fans being bitter that it isn't gay enough or whatever those kinds of people say

First of all what about Nyaan?? She was also into Shuji. Nyaan just gets so little resolution in this episode. There was a whole dynamic between the trio and they only really give us resolutions to two sides of it. Nyaan's dynamic with Shuji is completely ignored.

Ok sorry I just got done complaining about something and now I have to do it again. I don't feel quite as strongly as some others that Machu and Nyaan's attraction to Shuji was entirely shallow and they only cared about the freedom he represents... but I still think this really falls flat

A lot of very different things are described as newtype abilities throughout UC, but for me the throughline has always been that it's about connections with others. Newtypes are inherently more connected to the people around them. So that's why this just feels so viscerally wrong to me.
