A map of Helsinki's urban core. It shows which areas are in the shade on a clear day in mid-June. Hietaranta beach and Töölönlahti bay are highlighted with photos, since they are have some of the sunniest spots on the map.

#30daymapchallenge 17: A new tool
Helsinki enjoyed a grand total of 12 minutes of sunshine in November (1.–13.11). No better time to remember that yes, the sun does still exists.

Interoperable Europe Portal The Interoperable Europe Portal is the European Union’s platform for promoting and supporting interoperability, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across public administrations, businesses, and citizens. It acts as a one-stop shop for discovering, sharing, and reusing IT solutions and good practices.

I just stumbled across the site 'Interoperable Europe.' It seems worth looking into ( https://interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu/ ). It is an initiative of the European Commission to stimulate public sector interoperability.

There isn't much (yet) on Geo-spatial tools, but at least #grassgis is

Fix references in space-time dataset after renaming a mapset – Ecodiv.earth Renaming a GRASS GIS mapset renders space-time datasets in a temporal dataset unaccessible. A note to self how to deal with this, including a Python script.

As a side note, #grassgis had a built-in interactive scatter plot tool for rasters: grass.osgeo.org/grass-stable/manuals/wxG...

It's a bit dumbfounding when you realize GRASS started around 1982 and it's still developing. #grassgis

Scioto River basin (Ohio, USA) RDHM simulation animation, 04/15/2008 - 07/14/2008 An animation, using GRASS GIS 7 for visualization, of simulated flow in the Scioto River basin in Ohio, USA using the NOAA/NWS Research Distributed Hydrologic Model (RDHM), which is based on the Sacramento Soil Moisture Accounting Model (SAC-SMA). Precipitation inputs (in the RIGHT panel) are NEXRAD radar based, derived from the Multisensor Precipitation Estimator (MPE) that mosaics hourly data into ~4km x 4km grids and includes automatic and manual bias correction -- the same spatial resolution as the RDHM simulation in the LEFT panel. Blue polygon areas are cities and towns, the largest of which is Columbus, OH. The two red triangles show US Geological Survey streamgauge locations, where observed flow measurements are recorded, and where RDHM time series output is generated for model validation.
