We did some investigating in the Crosscord #gridspotting channel when @boobypuppy.bsky.social brought this tie to our attention (www.ebay.com/itm/22358223...) but we weren't able to track down the original grids!

Cool, some of those seem to be real grids but some have random typos? IOOO ISLANDS would have been standard stylistically 30 yrs ago, when you could interchange 1 and I to get entries like IOOI ("Arabian Nights" number, last seen in 1993). Anyway #gridspotting alert for @benzimmer.bsky.social et al.
