Pablo Picasso said, “Music and art are the guiding lights of the world.” It's completely true and perhaps should be updated to include all of the arts! The sentiment is even more relevant in our current time especially with funding sources continuing to be cut across the arts... When this piece was completed there seemed to be some musically ethereal element to the composition and thus the title was selected... We're happy to share today's featured artwork: "Guiding Lights of the World" a 12x16" Acrylic on Canvas Pad from June 2024. Artist's Statement / Backstory: Much like the piece I commented on a week ago this piece was worked on and left to sit for a while before being picked up and completed. Working on this piece I found myself walking that tightrope of not enough, just right, or too much... I love to layer and reintroduce the colors throughout each piece; however, it can become quickly muddy in color or overwhelming to the viewer. This artwork was in about three different versions of 'complete' before finally arriving at this one that was signed and done!

Overall, I think it's a good album. I like more songs than I don't. The ones I don't like, I *really* don't like, which is a first for me with Ghost. But the singles alone are worth the purchase and I did enjoy other tracks as well. #GuidingLights #Cenotaph
