A small grey/white hybrid dwarf hamster sits in a coconut hide. He has a little pink nose and white whiskers. There is a wooden carrot toy next to him - please note these dyed wooden toys are not actually suitable for hamsters.
The same hamster is now out of the coconut hide and in a pile of brown eco earth dirt. Surrounding him are wooden poles and a bit of bedding. He has a dark grey head and dorsal stripe, with white and mottled grey body. His eyes are black dots, his ears, nose and feet are pink. He has long white whiskers. He is very adorable.

i recently took in a hamster who needed a home!
his name is ziggy zucchini. he is a campbells/russian dwarf hybrid hamster (the grey dwarf hamsters you see in pet shops).
he needs a cage upgrade which will be my new project for the next couple months! i'm very excited

home-made hamster treats and enrichment activities. there are 4 seed balls made of a mixture of seeds, peanut butter, lentils, split peas, and a mix of flour and water. as there are also 2 wicker toys coated with seeds and lentils, they are dried on to the wicker toys using a glue made of chickpea flour & water and baked at a low temperature in the oven. One wicker toy is a sphere while the other is a cylinder.
the same mixture as the seed balls, except they are made into festive shapes. there are 7 treats shaped like christmas presents and one treat shaped like a snowman. the snowman was shaped using a cookie cutter and the presents were shaped using a chocolate mold.
today I’ve made a bunch of fun little treats for Leota! it’s so easy to make hamster enrichment items at home by making a “glue” out of buckwheat flour/chickpea flour & water (1:1 ratio) and using it to attach seeds etc. to items like wicker balls, sticks, and toilet paper roll
