but for real the design process for ghosts for haunhouse has been - if it was damaged by you dying, its gone now - if the body's damaged after death, it's just bones now - either the Why or the How gets displayed on your person. That's called your Symbol. - For a human to see ghosts, they need to have had a long period of "near death experience" time. They're called "liminal". Like. Adjective
but yeah the main reason i havent made a style guide for ghosts yet is solely because the Symbols can be so many. Theres so many ways and reasons to die, man. I gotta nail down some of the more common deaths. Kayt's is her heart belt buckle thingy because she died "For someone she loved". because someones gonna come up to be like "hey my blorbo died because of rabies whats the rabies symbol" and i dont have an answer for Disease yet!!!

Picking out Symbols is like I don't want them to be too Obvious but I want them to make sense. My favorite I've made so far is DJ's being alcohol poisoning because Dandelion Wine exists. Dandelions have also been a drug overdose symbol in artworks (alcohol is also considered a drug) so dandelions can be a couple of things. Also Methods and Reasons are like a balancing act in what goes into a Symbol. Like,,, if you died in an earthquake, that's a natural disaster symbol. If you died to *protect* someone during the earthquake, you may get like a Shield or a Heart depending on your attachment. A lot of it is just vibes based Had Kon died on the day he should have, he had a 50/50 shot at coming back with either the Sun or a set of Scales as his Symbol
