I walked into those rooms
knowing very clear
That titles don’t lift us higher
Than anyone we meet
But for fate of birth
or chances within reach
I could be that young man

I never felt so small, when I was invited to meet a gathering of the greats. There was Mozart, at the piano, there was Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci talking of his latest inventions. Oscar Wilde was spinning a yarn. Shakespeare was conversing with Virginia Wolf, while Mary Shelley looked on.

The drill whirred up to speed then bore down on my tooth with an ear-splitting whine. Then there was the dull crunching as it ground its way inside. Lightning flashes of pain traversed my face as I tried to breathe through choking debris and mist. I never felt so small or vulnerable.
