#OnThisDay Howie Epstein, bassist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers between 1982 and 2002, was born. He died of a suspected drug overdose in New Mexico on 23rd February 2003 at the age of 47. Howie could do it all – until his addictions prevented him from doing anything.
