Something about his voice, low and raspy from the alcohol, makes Hades's neck prickle. "You sound like you've thought about it." Hythlodaeus stills like he's been embarrassed; when he turns halfway on the leather seat to face him, Hades realizes how wrong the assumption was. Hythlodaeus's grin is wicked, his eyes heavy, his voice so very soft when he says: "I've thought about a great many things involving you, Hades, and some of them most certainly involved you begging for mercy."
