And while I like that for both mushers and dogs, I'm gonna need to change it for me, personally:

Little bit of possible drama for Hunter:
Running through the Blowholes, he stopped several times and has now been resting for 6hrs at the shelter cabin at the coast.
Most likely, the run was just plain exhausting.

With #Iditarod51 in full swing, I figured that I'd share a pic from #Iditarod47 with @BlairBraverman leaving the start in Willow.
Okay, I'm mostly sharing this because Flame is the best! #UglyDogs
Nic's declared his 24-hour rest at Nic-olai. Rare to take it this early in the race, but it also makes sense on paper: you have three breaks to take so why not 25%, 50%, and 75%?
Yes, White Mtn is much more than 75%. Also, I'm not a musher so what do I know? #Iditarod51
Oh Geez!! I feel so stupid. I totally forgot to talk about Hunter Keefe!! He's running Raymie's dogs, some of which ran with Q in 2020, so we do have a member of the extended "fam" running this year and I will be following closely. I blame Saturday brain. #Iditarod51
There will be more to come before we officially start tomorrow, but for now double check the sled bag for your required equipment, and finish those last minute preparations (i.e. make sure you've picked your http://fantasymushing.com team), and buckle in. #Iditarod51
I'm calling it Redemption Tour 2023 and will be fully invested in seeing if these three can finish what they started, and very nobly had to abandon, last year. Hopefully, those looking for a good story in this race will join me in cheering these folks along. #Iditarod51
Y'all may remember these 3 as rookies in last year's race who got caught in the big storm that hit as they were between White Mountain and Safety last year, so close to the finish. Two of them, Gerhardt and Bridgit, suffered broken bones trying to get their teams out. #Iditarod51
There will be plenty of attention paid to the mushers at the front of the race, but in true form for me, I'll be paying plenty attention to the whole pack and have unofficially adopted the trio of KattiJo Deeter, Bridgit Watkins, and Gerhardt Thiart. #Iditarod51
There are other differences this year as well. A much smaller field of just 33 mushers and the first year one of the "fam" isn't running (i.e. no Blair, Q, Will or Apayauq). Does that mean I won't be tweeting about it as much? Nope. #Iditarod51
So, we are a little more than an hour away from the ceremonial start of the 2023 Iditarod. This feels weird for me because the last 3 years when the ceremonial start happened, I was there. So, these first couple of days will be different for me. #Iditarod51
Yesterday was the picnic and signups for #iditarod51. @The_Iditarod …did not tweet a single thing. Did not post on Instagram. They had an event with a bunch of mushers, together, and in no way shared it with their fans. Are they really THAT bad at social media and engagement?!
