展示準備で、久しぶりに徹夜仕事しました。
もうフラフラなので、展示作品の紹介を日記とします。
昨日に続き、手織りイカットをベースに使った作品。
ラフレシアです。
光合成をせず寄生して養分を吸う植物。
妖艶な空気と熱っぽさには、どうしてもイカットが必要だったと思っています。
疲れているときにラフレシア見ると、圧を感じるな。
この花、強いな。

刺してる場合じゃなくなったので、展示作品をご紹介。
月夜を歩くマレーバクの小作品です。
ミシン刺繍には小さすぎるサイズで粗っぽくなりましたが、熱帯のむわっと感があるので連れていくことにしました。
ベースに使った手織りのイカットの力です。

One of my favorite pieces! I spent hours wrapping ~20 strings with plastic tape in order to weave the image of a plastic bag. The irony was not lost on me.
