Next to the main board, there are tracking sheets for trade goods, presence in regions, a board of event cards and action tiles, and a board of the upcoming war.

Close-up of the main board. It is divided into 4 regions: Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and India. Players can control markets for trade goods, forts, squadron spaces for ships, territories, and political alliances. Some spaces give an advantage tile if you control all adjacent spaces.

I had assumed #ImperialStruggle is just a retheme of Twilight Struggle, but it's actually a lot more complex & I was glad the rulebook contains a step by step example of a 1st round to learn the game as you play. We completely lost track of the time, too. What a tense, exciting beast!
