Behind the nauseating bluster and rhetoric, one point of light from HHS: A commitment to enforcing the prohibition on #informationblocking. We’ll see if there’s any truth to this or if it’s just the latest example of ‘truthiness’ emanating from the swamp. www.hhs.gov/press-room/h... #healthIT
How could I forget, the audience for this #InformationBlocking resource includes all IB regulated actors (that is, providers, HIE/HINs, and HealthIT developers regulated by the Information Blocking Rules).
And if you're not familiar with Information Blocking and/or want to see how such a complex and nuanced regulatory requirement was broken down into it's key parts, see the slide from @fhirball.bsky.social pasted above.

#InformationBlocking
New year, new resource from the The Sequoia Project's #InteroperabilityMatters Information Sharing Workgroup:
The Information Sharing Toolkit, including an Information Blocking Exception Workflow Map (for Manner, Fees, and Licensing)
#InformationBlocking
1100+ #informationblocking complains submitted, still the vast majority by patients against providers.
No, not every patient wants access to their record, but it's critical we get it easily and in a consumable way to the ones that do.

In better news - a thing I helped create got published today. I'm really proud of it.
Also, thank you @histalk.bsky.social for the one-liner about it in your update today as well, that was really cool.

Information Sharing Toolkit
Hey #MedSky if you are a Provider, HIE/HIN, HealthIT Developer, and therefore subject to the #InformationBlocking Rule, you NEED this resource developed by the Sequoia Project Information Sharing Workgroup to inform your compliance work.
sequoiaproject.org/the-sequoia-...
It adjusted #InformationBlocking exceptions to provide regulatory guardrails to protect actors who withhold reproductive health data (“Protecting Care Access”) in alignment with the recent #HIPAA modification
I doubt there will be '1 #EHR to rule them all' because whats more important are systems that are #interoperable and, thankfully, that's where healthcare is heading globally #FHIR #Sparked, away from proprietary systems where #informationblocking is a core component of an outdated business model (2)
For those of you for whom #Sparked on #FHIR is new. Basically its an Australian-wide initiative to make sure our health infornation and diverse health system is #interoperable No more proprietary APIs and no #Informationblocking It’s industry+clinical+govt led. Very cool! 😎 sparked.csiro.au
