🤝 At #ISCB46 in Basel, statisticians from academia, industry & regulatory bodies exchanged insights on clinical trials, real-world data & epidemiology. 🙏 Thanks to Nikki Rommers (DKF Data Analysis/Statistics) for her role in the organising committee. 👇

Just back from #ISCB46, where @mauriceoconnell.bsky.social shared insights on modelling complex treatment effects in clinical data. Here’s how his work is pushing boundaries in biostatistics 👇
Had an amazing time at #ISCB46 in Basel, Switzerland!
Got to present my work on causal inference and polypharmacy research @officialuom.bsky.social @dynairx.bsky.social , connect with the international stats community @ISCB_info, and explore the city with my family.
📢 Virginia Delucchi presented her poster at #ISCB46 in Basel!
Her study reviewed 500+ RCTs of solid tumours and found that while discontinuation is widely reported, post-treatment data often isn’t. Potentially leading to misinterpretation of treatment effects.

I am currently in the speedy standing queue waiting to get my @easyjethelpdesk.bsky.social flight back to Edinburgh from Basle.
#ISCB46 has been a great conference.
Looking forward to speaking at the early career day at #ISCB46! @mischhub.bsky.social
Had the opportunity to present my poster today at #iscb46 where I have detailed the methods we've been using to identify respiratory virus outcomes in the #OpenSAFELY secure analytics platform from @bennettoxford.bsky.social

Final conference morning of #ISCB46 and Basel looks beautiful
Inspired by @tayacollyer.bsky.social to turn this from a blank account into a proper profile at #iscb46
Enjoyed talking about talking at #ISCB46 today! @mischhub.bsky.social
Adventuring with my tiny human in Basel... #ISCB46
Catching up with a great pal at #ISCB46.

Some great talks at #ISCB46 today but a great tradition of ISCB is that Tuesday PM is free. I took the train to Sissach and walked up the Sissacherflue. #hiking #Basel #Switzerland
Fantastic presentation from Taya Collyer (aka 'statistical batman') on the Australian experience of statisticians on ethics committees at #ISCB46.
Speaking about communication as a biostatistician in @mischhub.bsky.social at #ISCB46 in Basel today! Very happy to be speaking in a session with fellow Aussie biostatistician @tayacollyer.bsky.social Come join us! 👇#scicomm #biostatistics
#ISCB46 very nice talk by Michael Kammer on COVID-19 prognostic models, which involved a ‘deep dive’ into the pond life of modelling.
Bottom line: “If looking for reliable models, don’t hold your breath.”
I don’t think Ralphie approves of me packing for ISCB ….
Looking forward to sharing my PhD poster on analysing overall survival when participants receive subsequent anti-cancer therapy during follow-up.
Provided Ralphie lets me have it back of course 🙈

Happy to present on causal dynamic predictions at #ISCB46 in Basel!
Join me, @gelovennan.bsky.social, @vanamsterdam.bsky.social, and @ruthkeogh.bsky.social for the invited session “Prediction modelling meets causal inference for clinical decision making”.
📍 Mon 25 Aug, 16:00 (Biozentrum U1.111)
