There's text next to her reading: The chef - Lives in an old mansion, the owners of which she worked for until the plague claimed them - Tells the heroine the manor is haunted when first met, gives her a meal and tea and allows her to stay (in her room, wow how forward) - Heroine hears wailing and crying at night, asks about them next day, chef reiterates the haunted-ness of the manor - Heroine and chef walk around the estate, mainly the gardens which has a beehive and mostly dead flowers, aside from some rhododendrons - They have dinner and tea again (this happens each night), heroine starts seeing figures in her periphery - One night the heroine and the chef fall asleep together while reading. When the heroine wakes up, she's alone. She has difficulty moving, barely able to sit up in bed - The chef enters, heroine asks what happened to her, the chef explains that the honey she used in her tea (which she used extra of this night) was mad honey - Honey was also the cause of the hallucinations she had convincing her the manor was haunted - Used enough mad honey last night to kill heroine -"I have gorged you with my love."
