A photo of Birds current WIP because Bird wishes to make art for the Anthrocon ConBook. Ya know, pretty sure all of that Art is donated... Any who- up front of this fine jazz quartet is a jellyfish playing a lovely tune on a saxophone, they're drawn with flow, a gentle sway to go with the rhythm. The Jellyfish is wearing a poncho with a design strip towards the edges and small triangles within it. The head features a large cap, much like a jellyfish top. Behind this is an octopus playing percussion- there's drums and cymbals. They have drumsticks and a drumfan. They're wearing a large set of shades and a head scarf. Behind this is a seahorse playing a trombone. The seahorse is wearing shades, and it's tail is wrapped around the trombone handle as it blows into it. Behind this is a sea lion wearing a jazzy hat and shades. The sea lion is smiling while looking to the right, flippers upon a double bass- a string instrument like a large violin, playing with it by strumming, no bow. Based off Ron Carter's performance pose. The ensemble are framed at the left with smokey affects. Bird-2025. Art is themed for the Anthrocon 2025 convention- Deep Sea Adventures. The animals chosen are found in kelp forests and represent the diversity of ecosystems found underwater, and how they're disappearing much like American Jazz Culture. This piece is fun, but the very human desire to draw it is to represent the cultures I've been introduced to along the way. I hope to honor the animals and peoples while inspiring the future artist to embrace what already is, and carry themselves with Pride.
