The future can cast a warm glow backwards, infusing the present with possibility. When the horizon shines with hope, the path there becomes softer and more welcoming. But that glow can become shaded by uncertainty and doubt; that path crooked and strewn with pitfalls. In such times, I try to make each step true, keeping my desired destination in sight, but remaining focused on the now. Grounded and steady, but moving. It appears that April has won an arm-wrestling contest with December, as it’s currently about 50F/10C here in Brooklyn. There’s a steady rain pelting down and there are birds chirping happily outside my window, so things couldn’t get more perfect at the moment.
