#Jirisan ep 13: This show does such beautiful things with grief, guilt and hauntings, and hauntings as grief. It's so raw, and so very human. The plot is really coming together in a fascinating, tense way - I want to know how it ends, but I don't want to run out of new episodes...!

#Jirisan 11-12. Most of the show taking place before the 2020 timeline is really excellent for that rising feeling of dreading the inevitable. And if I wasn't already sobbing during one particular scene, they pulled out the Sigur Rós again. Beautifully acted and written, and I love these characters.
#Jirisan ep 10: REALLY loving this "there's more in heaven and earth" take on the mountain and the people around it. Have learned that in Korean, fox-fire (the glowy supernatural lights, not the bioluminescent mushrooms) is "dokkaebi" fire. (OR it was the glowing eyes of some bears. Or not.)

#Jirisan ep 9. What a spooky, unsettling ep. There's a lot going on, and even more being slowly revealed about the mystery of Jirisan itself. But yeah, this episode in particular was really wrenching. I'm glad we got a little breather with some beautiful spring hiking scenery! Ah, mountains...!

#Jirisan after ep 8: I think Murderbot would like this show! It has fantastic "smart people saving each other" energy. The fact that they had limited time to record means crappy fake snow winter, but they made up for it with REALLY real forest fire! Had my heart in my throat for all of that.

#Jirisan ep 4: Revising the amount of serial killers on this mountain now. Hm. Though the question is if the original suspect is a red herring or not...! Also "potato bomb" should be something funny, but instead it's deeply tragic and ominous. Glad the show also has a lot of lighter moments, too.

#Jirisan ep 3: Okay, so starting to get a handle on the genre! Yes, mountain ranger stuff but also a large pinch of supernatural goings-on, because the titular mountain is haunted as fuck - and literally haunts one of the rangers. Oh and also? A serial killer with the MO "sad mountain accident".
Ep 2 of #Jirisan was 83 minutes (!), but so tightly packed with various things happening it didn't feel that long. The two timelines are a great approach to suspense (we know A Thing has happened, and the aftermath, but not how or why it happened). And then there's a super creepy ongoing mystery...!
Bueno miento, me faltaría #Jirisan que sale en un episodio y #TaxiDriver que sale en dos. Pero ninguna de las dos me llaman lo suficiente como para vérmelas esperando a que aparezca su personaje, la verdad.

Finished another #JuJiHoon #kdrama series #Jirisan which is incredibly beautiful, set in the forests of SK national parks, but it's also a nail-biting thriller!

I believe writer #KimEunHee is at her best in these kind of human stories, add the beautiful work of director #LeeEungBok & you have a technical marvel. The top tier performances from the cast complements perfectly the crew, making #Jirisan one of 2021's best dramas.
