Everytime I share my thoughts about this anime, I run of out words to say how beautiful it is. I teared up watching the finale episode knowing this moving story full of life lessons have come to an end. I am going to miss Makio and Asa so much. #JournalWithWitch #違国日記

Finished the manga after the anime ending. It was a lovely series. Wrapped up Asa and Makio's relationship nicely

I... I... I was disappointed by the ending of #JournalWithWitch. 🥲 A time skip with no point except to show that Emiri still had the video she took of Asa's performance? We still don't know if Emiri ever came out to her, or if Chiyo made it to medical school.

Asa texts Makio with a link to the latter's essay series "The Fern Frond", asking "Is this about me?" Makio replies "I'd prefer you not read my work."

Chiyo remarks to Asa: "My concerns are nothing compared to yours."

Asa replies "I don't think that's true."

Asa continues "Everyone's problems matter"

Chiyo responds "Concerns don't have a hierarchy, huh?"

BTW #IkokuNikki #JournalWithWitch is probably THE BEST anime of Spring season for me. AMAZING dialogues, amazing presentation, excellent characters and development. Amazing.

I legitimately can’t believe how great this show was or how much I’m going to miss it.
There’s so much to gush over, but the writing and characters are unmatched in bringing such heartfelt and raw depictions of grief and self-discovery to screen.

#JournalWithWitch / #IkokuNikki is the best Sunday morning watch. Very heavy at times, as the premise is a teen processing the loss of her parents, but the slow pace and deliberate emotional lens are done really well. And it has the most natural, conversational voice acting I think I’ve EVER heard.

Yeah, this was incredibly good.

I don't think it moved me like others, but Asa's declaration at the train terminal and her song to Chiyo might have been the first times I've really cried at this show? Just great work. #JournalWithWitch 13

Based on Asa's confusion but also thinking it was cool when Chiyo said "I witness you", Makio's suggestion (which I guess was ignored) that she watch Mad Max: Fury Road was totally correct.

Love how that of all things ended up a brick joke in the finale. #journalwithwitch #ikokunikki
