132 participated in #NoKings protest today in my tiny town of #Kalama WA (pop ~~ 2700). Woohoo! Peaceful, joyous, lots of honks in support. One A-hole carbon dumping on protestors. Police kept close eye, but politely.

Picture post card with a Pigeon Springs type B 4-bar postmark dated February 6, 1920. Franked with a one cent Washington stamp, the card is addressed to Portland, Oregon. Its message mentions good fishing.
The Pigeon Springs, WA post office operated from 1913 to 1924 at a rustic resort and hotel (really more of a lodge) about 17 miles up the Kalama River. Access from Kalama proved costly and difficult, contributing to the demise of the enterprise.

A big green industrial plants. Logs go in and boards come out. Sawdust goes up and conveyor belt, into bins for loading onto trucks, possibly heading for the mulch pile.
A mill at the port of Kalama turns raw logs onto lumber. Wood products are an important industry in southern Washington. If the price of lumber goes too low, the locals won't cut their trees until it goes back up.

Post card mailed from Kalama, Washington to Switzerland has a duplex postmark and is franked with Scott #300. It was then forwarded to the recipient under "Poste Restante" (analogous to general delivery in the US). A 10 centimes due marking was applied in New York, and a Swiss 10 centimes postage due stamp is tied by a Zurich postmark. Two other Zurich postmarks are also present.
On this card to Switzerland, the sender affixed a 1¢ stamp when the UPU international post card rate was 2¢. Postage due was 2¢ (10 centimes) because it was subject to twice the deficient amount (2x 1¢).
But something else is wrong. Can you see it?
