So instead we got "Jason vs. Carrie-knockoff" & when New Line bought the rights to Jason Voorhees (but couldn't buy "Friday the 13th" name for some reason), they planted the seed for a Freddy vs. Jason movie at the end of Friday the 13th part 9... And the screenplay for it was in development hell for 9-10 years & when they finally released it, the movie was overall average, it was okay. Some kills where pretty good & the best parts & the highlights of the movie is when Freddy fights Jason! The movie had different endings, one of them would have included Pinhead from Hellraiser stopping a fight between Freddy & Jason asking them "What seems to be the problem?" That ending I would have loved, but they didn't do it because Pinhead & Hellraiser was owned by a different company... A sequel was planned, but it got cancelled & instead got turned into a comicbook miniseries - Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash (as in Ash Williams from Evil Dead!)
