Three books: I Am Wolf, I Am Raven and We Are Dragon, all by Alastair Chisholm.
I'm blown away to see these books together. All three were designed by #RayTierney and illustrated by #karitasart, and they look phenomenal!
#WeAreDragon arrives this Thursday, so pre-order if you can from any good bookshop. I hope you enjoy the finale!

The book and its press release. The cover shows protagonist Valentine wearing a purple beret and jacket, black glasses and long braids in front of a cityscape and surrounded by floating blobs of colour.
Combining magical fantasy, sci-fi and dystopian adventure, The Genie Game by Jordan Ifueko sounds like my kind of read.
Out 21/04 for 9+ readers, huge thanks go to Hiromi @piccadilly-press.bsky.social

4 picture books laid on the floor in a square: Chitra Soundar & Sandhya Prabhat's It's Time To Hush and Say Goodnight (a flowing, dreamlike cover featuring an Indian dad and his son cuddling.) The Worst Princess by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie (with a princess riding on a mid-air dragon, who is smiling at her.) Look Up by Dapo Adeola and Nathan Bryon, showing a small Black girl wearing a bright orange space suit looking up and smiling widely at the night sky. And Beegu by the sublime Alexis Deacon, showing a painterly cityscape with a small orange alien creature at the front, with long ears that trail to the floor. The atmosphere of the piece is a little mournful.
I have tried to pick a few that haven't already been shouted out! Here are 4 I really love:

Book cover for The Lost Robot by Joe Todd-Stanton. Image shows a broken robot standing by a rubbish dump looking into a puddle. In the puddle he sees a happy, colourful version of himself surrounded by a luscious green landscape.
Book cover for AdventureMice: Mermouse Mystery by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre. Image shows a yellow submarine being driven by a brown mouse with glasses. A white mouse with a brown patch round his eye, wear in a yellow mac, pops his head out of the top. Around them swim mermice (half mermaid, half mice).
Book cover for Crazy About Cats by Owen Davey. Image shows stylised illustrations of various cat species including a striking looking tiger, accompanied by a pair of binoculars and a safari car driving along a road.
Book cover of The Arrival by Shaun Tan. Cover appears in the style of a battered old notebook. Image in sepia tones shows a man in a suit with a hat and a briefcase bending down to speak to an unusual looking creature with a large mouth, pointy ears, a short body and a long tail.
Last week I treated myself to Joe Todd Stanton’s newest picture book which is just gorgeous. 😍
It got me thinking we need a #KidsBooksFriday celebrating illustrators.
Which illustrators do you love? And which of their books show of the best of their style?

It's stuff like this that helps keep me going as a children's author. I met Allen's daughter seven or eight years ago, not long after The Train to Impossible Places was published, so I'm over the moon the learn that she still carries the book and its characters with her. #KidLit #KidLitUK

Front cover of Demon Hunters: Soul Feeder by Jennifer Killick showing a huge creature snaking through the air with its mouth wide open above the silhouettes of two boys. Illustrated by Marina Vidal.
Big thanks to @barringtonstoke.bsky.social for sending me a proof copy of Soul Feeder as part of their giveaway. As you’d expect from #JenniferKillick, it’s a thrilling middle grade horror. As a dyslexia-friendly book, it’s kept short and very SNAPPY!
Out 4th June 2026 💙📚👍

1/2 “Librarians could start to self-censor by not ordering certain titles or removing books from their shelves through fear, and publishers could be more prone to pre-publication censorship, which often means that representation within children’s literature drops”.

Visual asset from Usborne. Background is split vertically with light blue to left and pink to right. Book cover of A Sister Like You. Two girls with their back to us with arms around each other, one with long brown pigtail wears pale pink shirt, pink-purple skirt and carries a pink-purple rucksack. She has her arm around girl with shoulder length black hair who wears blue trousers and a pale blue shirt with a tie flipped over her right shoulder. Text, white font, to right of this reads "Ella and Ari always knew they had a sister...they just didn't know it was each other". Beneath this is release date announced in white font against purple circle: "7th May 2026". Beneath this, in white font, "NEW FROM SARAH HAGGER-HOLT, TWO-TIME WINNER OF THE LITTLE REBELS AWARD". Beneath this are the covers of Sarah's four other books published by Usborne: Nothing Ever Happens Here, Proud of Me, Just Like Everyone Else and The Fights That Make Us.
