This splendid-looking animal has a mane that makes it look even bigger than it is. But male lions are not the greatest hunters. They usually leave the chase to the female lions. And the lioness hunters only catch their prey once for every four times they try! Experts say that even hyenas are better hunters than lions. In one study, four out of every five animals eaten by lions were actually killed by hyenas. Among the big cats, the tiger is bigger, the cheetah is faster, and the leopard is stronger than the lion. The lion may not be the King of Beasts. But at least it is the Royal Prince!”
