I often think back to the kona / Marin / Saracen frames I had in the 80s to mid 90s and how imaginative the colorway & decals were.These days I’m all ‘I want a plain green one’ this summer I’m gonna go out more on my old #konalavadome .It looks thrashed but it’s so fun to ride. Really light GF model

You’re totally right Oz. My first MKS were on a kona in the early 1990s . Never looked back . I could spin the pedals on that old #konalavadome right now and they would spin true. That’s 30 years & that bike has been thrashed ♥️🚲

Vuelta or tioga used to make them back in the day . A kind of white cream look. I had a pair similar in the 1990s on my #konalavadome in my first ‘coloured tire’ craze . Of all the parts changes on a bike. Tires are amongst the best alongside bars. I rarely change seats as I only like a few 😆

So a #konalavadome depending on parts spec-as I recall was about £500 in the uk in 1993. The Bank of England says that’s about £1100 now (allowing for inflation) but there’s one on eBay for £238 which is about $320 dollars at current rates. Are old MTBs from the USA selling for cheaper rates here ?

Manchester : never ever out of sight. Never ever at a public bike stand . And That’s with a 1993 #konalavadome never mind a surly . Too much experience & witnessing of bike theft. 🚲😞

It wasn’t but it soon became my #dailyride so my old #konalavadome is now a project for next summer . 93 model . Change the forks . Add a front rack . Make it 2by.

Totally agree . I have a project for 2025 to completely rebuild my #konalavadome I have had since the early 90s . Such a lovely frame
