#Ghana, the first British colony in #SubSaharanAfrica to gain independence, traces itself to 1957 on #ThisDayInHistory, when the three #GoldCoast colonies were joined to #BritishTogoland to form a single dominion. #KwameNkrumah made it into a #PanAfrican one-party dictatorship.
