Leeds College of Music was founded 60 years ago. It moved to its present site in 1997 - photograph of this building. Five years ago on 1 August 2020 it became Leeds Conservatoire.

Photograph in black and white of the Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra performing in an unknown venue – not Leeds Town Hall. The orchestra performed in other towns and cities in Yorkshire. They also took part in the Festival of Britain in 1951, performing in the new Festival Hall in London. He was in a minority who appreciated the focus on contemporary British music.
Early concerts in #LeedsTownHall were pervaded by the smell of fish & chip from the cellar café that still operated after WWII.
