This time a Voigtländer VITO B from 1958. It's always an adventure to take out a 65 year old Camera, not knowing if it functions properly & when you fill it with 30 year old film it gets even more adventurous. Sometimes it is good not to be in control.

A beautiful brass Lens from the late 19th Century is #LensOfTheDay A Rapid Aplanat No.14 F6/34cm from Franz Ferdinand Meyer, Dresden. All it needed was a good clean & polish.

#LensOfTheDay is an Extra Rapid Aplanat F7.7/30cm from 1890. Nothing back then was really about Sharpness, Contrast, or Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration. :-) Despite that the images are fascinating & often way more "alive" than the ones taken by todays 'perfect' lenses.

There once was a proud Voigtländer Skopar 3.5/7,5cm from 1938. Over the Decades it became a completely resinified poor thing. After a couple of hours of TLC it is back on duty and does what it can do best. Take fine images again. #LensOfTheDay

Another Curiosity is todays' #LensOfTheDay
It has a 13,5cm focal length and a calculated Aperture of ca. F16. So it's more a fast Pinhole lens, but it has one glass element. It is from around 1900, maybe a bit older. And who would've thought that it can produce images like these.

Here comes a beautiful 9x12 Art Noveau Camera from around 1905. Equipped with an early Steinheil Unofokal F6/13,5 cm. The results with this lens are just beautiful. #LensOfTheDay

The ИНДУСТАР-11 (Industar) 30cm/F9(-90) made by Leningrad Optical and Mechanical Association in 1969.
A Tessar Type originally designed for Large Format. Cumbersome to use but the results are worth it. #LensOfTheDay

Some Camera Eye Candy. A Pony Premo No.6 (for 4x5, 5x7, or 6½×8½'' plates), equipped with a Bausch&Lomb Rapid Rectilinear Lens, made by the Rochester Optical Company in 1890. The Company was bought by Kodak around 1900. But until then they made beautiful Cameras. #LensOfTheDay

A little rare "Dreamcatcher", the Ica Novar-Anastigmat 6.8 / 9cm mounted on an Ica Icarette from around 1916. It can go full Pictorialism or just behave like a "normal" Lens. #LensOfTheDay

Another real Enigma #LensOfTheDay
A chunk of glass in black painted brass. The Agfa Helostar 4.5/18cm from 1927. Advertised as "bitingly sharp". This lens renders beautifully & Yes it is also very sharp for a lens almost a 100 years old. Another example of exceptional Lens Design

One from the Curiosity Cabinet
Brebico Anastigmat
A brand I never came across all these years & where is nothing whatsoever to find about in the Googleverse. Serial number of the shutter puts it in the 2nd half of the 1920s. Beautiful.
Every day is a school day. #LensOfTheDay
