My grandfather on my dad’s side Daniel McCarthy lost an arm at Mafeking 2nd Boar war 1899-1902 serving with The City (London) Imperial Volunteers CIV. You had to be a good horseman and shoot from the saddle. Daniel is pictured later in life. #LestWeForget #lestweforget2025
