Even healthier primaries? If all voters *could* vote in every taxpayer-funded election. Millions of independent voters -- the fastest growing segment of the electorate -- are excluded from voting in closed, partisan primaries. #letindependentsvote

What a shame that the amendment @cmbrookepinto.bsky.social just offered to implement the semi-open primaries component of Initiative 83 did not pass. 73% of voters made their will known. Shame on those who voted no! #letindependentsvote #YESon83

Without full implementation of i83, the 18% of DC voters that are unaffiliated to any party will remain locked out of participation in primary elections that their taxes pay for.
