And of course, this requires composers to step up to the plate and produce good stuff (of whichever style). When fans realize that #livingclassical25 is about energizing the genre, I believe they will come on board and be much more open about "taking a chance" on an unknown piece.

A good example of a #livingclassical25 concert is: 1) a piece by a living composer coupled with 2) a famous piece in a broadly similar style, and 3) another work that will definitely put concert-goers in their comfort zone. Fans, performers, composers, and the industry all benefit.

The attached video was eye-opening. My own take on the health of classical music is #livingclassical25 We shouldn't bin Beethoven et al, but concerts with at least 25% music by living composers are actively celebrated as promoting the long-run #wellbeing of the art form.
