The 9 Links from the Linked Universe AU are walking through Faron Woods in Twilight's era. Time, who is at the back of the group, hears music coming from somewhere deep in the woods and turns to look into the trees that line the path.
Time's scarred eye opens in surprise as he recognizes the music as the song of healing. He rushes off into the woods to find the music's source as memories of his adventure in Termina flash through his mind. The music comes to an abrupt stop as he stumbles into a sunny clearing.
Time finds the Skull Kid playing the fairy ocarina as he sits on a gravestone that reads "Link, hero and mentor" in Hylian letters. The helmet of the Hero's Shade rests on the ground in front of the gravestone, and a ring of mushrooms encircles the grave itself. Time and Skull Kid stare at each other for a moment, both surprised to see an old friend. A tear rolls down Skull Kid's cheek, and he tosses the ocarina aside as he begins to run to Time.
Skull Kid leaps into Time's arms and hugs him tightly, surprising him. Time's expression grows somber as he looks past Skull Kid at the gravestone. He kneels so that Skull Kid's feet can reach the ground and wordlessly returns his friend's embrace.
