A Five-spotted Hawk Moth (Manduca quinquemaculatus) was standing on the side of a house in Norman, Oklahoma, United States on August 28, 2025 just before a storm. The wooden measuring stick next to the moth is an ancient design called a "yard stick" that was given away as a promotional advertising gift at fairs in the distant past. The markings on the stick are inches and not centimeters.
