I recently made a post on X. They got African Americans really bad. Like really really big one hundred twenty characters really get the message across. So let's talk about here, shall we ? The Black American culture is the culture emulated throughout the world because America is colonize the world. We're not that special again, If you know, I'm a wealthy pan African, always learning all, always reading, always around other pan Africans. I didn't think this was that hot of a take. But I know some of y'all even watching this video right now are like, wait a minute. What do you mean we're not that special ? And now with a lot of pushback was like, we are special. And if you're thinking, I just want to say I am not saying that African American culture, Black American culture is not special. I say it's not that special. And what I meant by that was that there are African descended people all across the world, as Afro Brazilians, as Afro Caribbeans, as Africans in the continent were not just like some super magical black people that are the only people on earth that are tapped into what resonates with the rest of the world. And the reason I made that post was because a lot of African - Americans and I talked to really believe. But we're like the secret ingredients for life is like our culture is just so special because it reached so far and did so much for so many different other people in different cultures. And I'm troubled by the amount of American exceptionalism that is implied in that reasoning. Our culture is special, but the only reason the rest of the world even knows about our culture is because American imperialism has spread itself all across the world. And when it did that, it took our culture with it, whether we wanted it to or not. Let's look at hip hop. For example, how did the people in China, Japan, India, and all across the world get introduced to hip hop ? Was it because they came to America, heard our music and said, Hey man, I really liked this. Let's go to the African Americans and tell them I really liked your music and pay them I'm for it. Or is it because the white own record labels that distribute music decided to make more money off of our culture and distribute music all across the world ? America has seven hundred fifty four military bases in eighty countries going back to the sixties and seventies. Black American music, like jazz arm being the blues, got transported to these other countries only military bases where black people in the military would be listening to it. All. These other black cultures across the world are just as special as ours in their local regions, They are the ones that get shit movie. However, the difference between us and them is that we are the ones that are closest to the colonizers. Loudspeaker when it comes to music, movies, food, fashion, America is the center of the world. And it's really not that hard to understand that because America appropriates black culture and tries to make it it's own, i. E. Turning Black American soul food into southern quo azim that when it goes to other countries to propagandize and exploit and find ways to make profit in other countries, it's going to take Black American culture with it. That's the reason our special, unique, divine culture got sent all over the world. Whereas Afro Brazilians, Afro Latinos, Apple Caribbeans, all the other diaspora rooms didn't have that opportunity. I mean in some of the replies are just insane. Someone said, If this was true, wouldn't everyone be emulating British culture like, bro, you type this in English in English ? From it wrong, People from all over the planet had a shot at a cultural hegemony in the world. Specifically chose Black American Army jazz yada yada ya. My answer to that would be, But when did we choose to give it to them ? And if we did choose to give it to them, then why do European Americans make most of the money from it. Tourney. We don't want to admit that our culture has been exploited and that the result of that exploitation looks favorable when you look at how much money we make white people. A high estimate of what Michael Jackson made in his entire lifetime was about one point one billion dollars. But his music genera rated six times this six billion dollars. And by the time he passed away he was up to five hundred million dollars in debt. Yet his music reached every corner of the globe. Yet his music with special and dear to us. But it didn't get to everyone's ears because they just respect our culture and who we are so much. Some folks wanted a six billion dollars in my bed. I said during his lifetime, I meant during his solo career. Lord knows how much he was making during the Jackson five days, some of y'all will say, Well, what about our food project in his arms and everybody eats fried chicken. The CEO of Papuans, KFC, Wingstop chains, Bojangles, and any other chicken place you can think of that would have a restaurant outside of America or in America is twice out to say in closing, our culture is special. People love what we do. My two examples, not the only two examples of culture, but just the two examples that I use for our chicken and hip - hop resonates with people because it feels good. However, the only reason you see it all over the world is because America has a habit of taking from those they oppress and making money off that only thing they're good at. And it doesn't take away from our culture or how unique we are to say that Jamaica had become what America is today. We'd all be eating Kingston Jerk chicken instead of KFC. Let me know what you think. I look forward to tearing down your arguments one by one piece. Share, believe, inspire, black be.
