I just saw #marvelsthunderbolts and it was really good. My favorite characters were The Sentry, Red Guardian and Bucky. I meant of course The Winter Soldier, not myself 🤪 I had a fun day!

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* (2025): Completed. Saw this yesterday afternoon at my local theater. It was half full but there was plenty of fan engagement. Is it safe to say MCU Marvel is back? I don't know but thus movie sure delivered an unexpected surprise and harkened back to the MCU of old. Like the great parts of MCU Phases 1-2. Didn't expect this to be better than a fourth Captain America movie! A movie with a Suicide Squad-esque group doing well? Maybe that's what the people want. Thunderbolts* blends darkness and humor together well. For an MCU movie, the movie goes down into dark places like suicide, depression, and mental illness. Most of the humor is in the right places. Stand out performances: Florence Pugh’s Yelena, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, Wyatt Russel’s US Agent, Lewis Pullman’s Bob/Sentry, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina. Great performances from them. Yelena and Red Guardian are fun to watch together. Bob’s arc was handled well given his subject matter and his descent into darkness as the Void was creepy (not to me but I see others taken aback by his Void persona). The * in the title does have a meaning behind it. Watch for spoilers. There is a mid-credit and post-credit. Mid-credit involves a cereal box and the post... I won't get into that but I heard my audience chattering about it lol. Marvel is back? One thing I didn't expect: one character I expected to join the Thunderbolts didn't. I won't spoil but go watch for yourself. Thunderbolts* didn't disappoint. Not counting Deadpool & Wolverine (since its a Fox Marvel wrap up) and the better D+ shows (ex. Loki), this might be the first great pure MCU movie in a while. Do go see it if you're looking for a return-to-hype MCU form.
