Further compounding matters: There are two cop cars enforcing the dropdown.
But doing NOTHING to block off the pothole. Instead watching (almost gleefully) as 3 lanes of Route 9 traffic are forced to merge and hit it.

Alternative B3, Tight Diamond Intersection with Bridge. It's literally an offramp as if Mem Drive is a 60mph highway and not a 25mph parkway.

I looked back on yesterday's #MemorialDrive slides. #MassDOT considered smaller roads (pic 1, items 7, 12), but lists an inviolable constraint "Equal or better level of service" (pic 2).
It's overbuilt today. If you require no compromises for cars, of course you'll get a highway offramp! (pic 3)

I'm wondering if there is anywhere we can find transparent info about this construction work.
Usually it's *very* hard to find unless it makes the local news. But usually #MassDot has billboards warning commuters of construction related delays. And a 1 page BLUF on big projects.
@universalhub.com Route 9 is a parking lot between Parker Street and the Langley Road light due to #MassDot "construction".
I was just sitting in traffic there for about 20 minutes before giving up and taking Dudley Road.
Any ideas on what's going on? This is pretty extreme, even for #MassDoT.
