It's an overcast day but there's a heat here that brings with it plenty of humidity. The bubbling layers of clouds fill the sky above a gentle, verdant, hilly land mass coming in from the right across this calm bay of water we're gazing across. The sea's surface is barely rippled and is dull blue-grey, reflecting the sky, until it gets further away from land to the left near the horizon where it takes of a darker blue suggestive of deeper water. There are a handful of marker buoys in the water but our main focus is on a small sailing yacht at anchor a couple of dozen metres in front of us. It's white and its sail is furled. Attached by rope at its rear to the right of it there's a small, inflatable motor dinghy, and behind the yacht we can see another small vessel anchored although this one looks to be more suited for day fishing and has no mast.
St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands for #MeerMittwoch this week. This was from our November cruise around the Caribbean and this was our first port of call after departing Puerto Rico.

Ein mittig plazierter schwarzweißer Anker vor einer Meerszene im Hintergrund. . Unten ca 1 cm oranger Sand, darüber ca 5 cm dunkelblaues wellig gemaltes Meer, darüber ca 2 cm hellblauer leicht bewölkter Himmel. Der Anker reicht mit der Spitze in den Sand und geht oben bis knapp unter der Wasseroberfläche.
Den Anker lichten und vor Anker gehen sind starke Symbole/Bilder für Lebensentscheidungen. Mein kleines Ankerbildchen zum #meermittwoch ist da eher harmlos 🙂.
