Hot pink, shiny blobs with some dark patches on them are attached to a gray rock, and have some beach pebbles around them. They are about two or three times the size of a wad of chewing gum.
These blobs on some tide-exposed rocks were so bright, I thought they might be human-made. I don't know what they are, but I think they're alive, and I vaguely recall that I may have asked on another occasion but forgot the answer. #MendocinoCoast #MarineLife #MarineBiology

Eight foot high aloe-type plants with huge dagger shaped leaves grow beside a footpath in the sunshine. One of the aloes has developed a twenty foot high flower spike that hasn't opened yet, and it looks like an enormous asparagus spear. Trees in the background help to give some scale to the plant.
Went to the #MendocinoCoast Botanical Gardens today, and out of nowhere, I started craving asparagus.

Close look at the plant called Footsteps of Spring, with its yellow flowers clumped low into its center an its surrounding leaves starting yellow in the center and gradating shades greener to the outer layer, all very close to the ground. More of these plants are seen in the unfocused distance, like blobs of spilled paint in the grass.
